The company will also highlight its support for the Himalayan Carbon Education Project 2026, an initiative focused on environmental responsibility and local community engagement in Nepal.
San Giovanni in Persiceto (Bologna), November 2026 – SAFE S.p.A., an Italian company specializing in the design and manufacturing of gas compression systems and integrated solutions, will participate in the 29th edition of Ecomondo, taking place from November 3 to 6, 2026, at the Rimini Expo Centre, Italy.
The highlight of SAFE’s participation will be the new SH-Series, a four-cylinder compression platform developed to expand the company’s technology portfolio and address the evolving requirements of industrial and energy transition markets.
SH-Series: Greater Versatility and Improved System Efficiency
The new SH-Series represents an evolution of SAFE’s established compression technology, designed to extend the operating range of its existing portfolio and enable new applications across biomethane, biogas, gas recovery, CO₂, and hydrogen markets.
With its four-cylinder architecture, the platform offers extensive configuration flexibility, allowing it to handle different flow rates and high compression ratios.
One of its key advantages is the possibility, in certain applications, of replacing configurations based on two SW-Series compressors with a single SH unit, helping reduce capital expenditure (CAPEX), overall equipment footprint, and system complexity.
The use of components shared with SAFE’s established SW-Series also helps streamline spare parts management and maintenance activities, while preserving the company’s approach to delivering customized, integrated solutions.
The versatility of the SH-Series opens up new application opportunities in carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), flare gas recovery, boil-off gas (BOG) recovery, industrial gas compression, and applications requiring compression from low suction pressures.
The platform is also designed to accommodate oil-free configurations, including those intended for hydrogen applications, further expanding its potential across emerging energy sectors.
An Immersive Digital Experience to Explore the New SH-Series
At Ecomondo 2026, SAFE will introduce the new platform through a virtual reality and three-dimensional visualization application, offering visitors an innovative digital experience to discover the SH-Series.
Through the 3D representation, visitors will be able to virtually explore the technology, examining its architecture and main design features.
This initiative forms part of SAFE’s ongoing digital innovation journey, aimed at making its technological solutions more accessible, intuitive, and engaging.
Himalayan Carbon Education Project 2026: Sustainability Beyond Technology
Alongside the introduction of the SH-Series, SAFE will highlight its support for the Himalayan Carbon Education Project 2026, an initiative developed in collaboration with mountaineer Fabrizio Silvetti and representatives of the British Ghurka College in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The project is connected to Silvetti’s mountaineering expedition to Cholatse, a Himalayan peak, and combines the sporting challenge with environmental responsibility and awareness.
Two main activities are planned: the purchase of certified carbon credits, in relation to the emissions associated with the expedition, and the planting of 100 fruit trees in a park in Kathmandu.
Through the involvement of a local educational institution, the project also aims to promote environmental awareness and emphasize the role of communities in protecting their surroundings.
By supporting this initiative, SAFE complements its technological contribution to the energy transition with participation in environmental and social responsibility projects.
