South Korean logistics giant CJ Logistics is expanding into on-demand mobility services with the launch of a mobile engine oil change service, developed in partnership with S-OIL TotalEnergies Lubricants, a lubricant manufacturer. The new service allows motorists to have their vehicles serviced directly at home or at their workplace, without having to visit a garage.
The service operates through an integrated model combining online ordering, product delivery and on-site technical assistance. Customers order the required engine oil and filter, which CJ Logistics delivers to their chosen location. A certified technician then visits the site to perform the oil change and replace the filter. The company offers service as early as the day after the order is placed.
This initiative is part of CJ Logistics’ strategy to expand its presence in on-demand automotive services. The project is managed by The Unban Group, the company’s business unit specializing in middle-mile logistics, which coordinates operations across the distribution chain.
CJ Logistics already has experience in this market through an existing at-home tire replacement service. The group now plans to gradually broaden its offering, notably by introducing car battery replacement services. Its objective is to develop a comprehensive, one-stop service model that enables customers to access multiple vehicle maintenance services through a single provider.
Beyond individual motorists, CJ Logistics also intends to target the business-to-business (B2B) market, particularly fleet operators and car rental companies, whose vehicles require regular maintenance.
With this new offering, CJ Logistics aims to leverage its logistics network to deliver technical services directly to customers. This development illustrates the group’s ambition to move beyond its traditional role as a transport provider and become an integrated mobility services operator, focusing on speed, convenience and customer proximity.
